Who We Are

At AVENSHIRE, we are more than a care provider, we are a reflection of my lifelong passion for compassionate support. As a family caregiver myself, I founded AVENSHIRE to bring to life the picture that my grandparents attempted to paint for me with their words. "Robyn, life for us just isn't the same anymore. All the friends and family our age that we would normally talk to and spend time with have already gone to glory. It would just be nice to have somewhere to be that's not a nursing home, where we can get together and talk about the good ole' days."- (J B Therman, Ann Drew, Sarah Young, James Wiggs and Gerald Young). Being a part of their caregiver team set the foundation for that which I am proud to introduce to the world as AVENSHIRE. The safe space where older adults and persons with functional limitations can feel valued, connected, and supported. We are guided by integrity, respect, and a belief in human connection. Our team is here to bring peace of the mind to every family we serve, one moment, one conversation and one step at a time. 

As the founder of AVENSHIRE, over my 42 years of life, I have learned that FAMILY is the foundation upon which our lives are built. It is where we find love, purpose, a sense of belonging, and support through every stage of life. My special purpose in life is to have Avenshire be the safe haven, that fosters the connections our elders often silently speak of. That one place that allows them the opportunity to make new friends, add to their families, maintain their independence, flourish, and help their caregivers find balance so they can still preserve the moments they cherish the most.
